Carotid Artery Stenosis

Carotid artery stenosis refers to the narrowing or constriction of one or both of the carotid arteries, which are major blood vessels located on each side of the neck. These arteries are responsible for supplying blood to the brain, and when they become narrowed due to the buildup of plaque or atherosclerosis, it can lead to various health risks, particularly stroke.

Stroke

Majority of stroke (paralysis) are caused by blockage or narrowing of blood vessel in neck (carotid arteries). Sometimes these paralysis attacks are reversible called as transient ischemic attack. Transient ischemic attacks are warning signs of coming/impending major and permanent Paralysis. This condition needs immediate attention and medical management.

  • Recurrent stroke
  • Transient slurred speech, blurring of vision or deviation of angle of mouth.
  • Recovering hand or leg weakness.
